Update from LGMS Board Meetings

In the fourth quarter of 2020, the LGM Board of Management and the LGW Management Committee for the mutual schemes considered a number of important matters with key highlights as follows:

LGM Board of Management – Q4 2020

QAO Final Audit Report and acceptance of LGM Financial Statements for the 2019/20 Year

The Queensland Audit Office concluded that the audit of the mutual scheme and financial report gives a true and fair view of the financial position as at 30 June 2020 and complies with the trust deed of Queensland Local Government Mutual.  It was noted that any issues of concern had been resolved and any emerging risks that arose from the COVID-19 pandemic have been considered.

LGMS Regional Risk Co-ordinator Program for the 2021-2025 period

The LGMS Regional Risk Co-ordinator Program for the 2021-2025 period was considered and endorsed following feedback from relevant stakeholders to further enhance the program.

LGMS Climate Resilience Strategy with Flying Minute endorsed out of session

A LGMS Climate Resilience Strategy was adopted and it was determined that this be delivered to Members through an annual Climate Resilience Delivery Program commencing in 2021/22.

LGMS Regional Risk Co-ordinator Program for the 2021-2025 period

The LGMS Regional Risk Co-ordinator Program for the 2021-2025 period was considered and endorsed following feedback from relevant stakeholders to further enhance the program.

Skytrust Pilot Program and Flying Minute for extension of the program to 30 June 2021 endorsed out of session

The existing Skytrust Pilot Program Councils will continue for a further 6 months to 30 June 2021 but request further commitment from Members with regard to resourcing and compulsory modules.  The Pilot Program will extended to those Councils who have commenced the Skytrust 3 month trial period up until 30 June 2021 and that subsidisation of an extra Skytrust training session in Brisbane at the LGW WHS Conference in February 2021 can be scheduled if required.

LGMS Climate Resilience Strategy with Flying Minute endorsed out of session
