Pivoting and progressing at ASIEQ Conference 2022

Last week LGMS hosted a table at the Association of Self Insured Employers of Queensland (ASIEQ) Conference which was held over two days in Brisbane. The LGW team were joined by Moreton Bay Regional Council, Logan City Council, Ipswich City Council and Toowoomba Regional Council.

The theme of this year's conference was Pivoting and Progressing and explored the unique and ground  breaking ways organisations have pivoted to not just survive, but progress in these strange times. Conference highlights included a presentation on workplace culture and providing feedback. Secondly, a presentation on human factors and safety including discussion on the global movement of “Safety Differently” encouraging organisations to declutter their safety bureaucracy. Thirdly, a presentation by an occupations physician on medical cannabis and how we should understand it as a treatment modality and how we should manage it in the workplace.
